.....my understanding is that you all believe jesus is michael the archangel....... the two verses above describe two different personalities..... the archangel in jude rebuked satan in the name of the father, because he knew it was not his place to rebuke him, he knew that he didn't have the authority to do so, that the only person who possesses this authority is god himself.... while jesus, in matthew 4:10, does not need to invoke the name of the father to rebuke satan, because the father and jesus are one, not michael and jesus..... .... because michael the archangel is not jesus christ our savior.....

Revelation is presented as a vision and it reads almost like watching a movie or a play. Without any other context, or reading anything into it, ' the lamb'- Jesus and Michael- ' the archangel ' are 2 different players in the story.

Jesus is referred to, over and over as the lamb. If ' the lamb' did battle with the dragon, there is no reason not to make that clear. But the book clearly describes a separate entity - Michael.

In Rev 19:11, there is another character, identified as the word of god and king of kings who seems to be Jesus, who defeats the beast and false prophet.

I'm not going to stake my life on my interpretation. It just seems to read that way to me.

We know Michael is an archangel and as such he has his angels under his command.
Jesus comes with an archangel's voice and commands his angels to gather his chosen ones together.

There are a lot of 'characters' that feature in revelation. Jesus is portrayed consistently as the slaughtered 'lamb', with 7 horns and 7 eyes. There are various types of angels, carrying out different roles, there are the 4 living creatures, and the list goes on.

Jesus having a voice 'like an archangel ' does not automatically imply that he is 'the' archangel, does it?

my only prowess in making predictions stems from my 77-years of life in the united statesgrowing up under president truman, eisenhower, kennedy, nixon, .....etc.

etc.i was a widdle kid sitting in front of a tiny black and white tv set when the very first broadcastsof political conventions, deal-making, debates (nixon vs kennedy), assassinations (jfk, rfk, martin luther king, etc.

) i grew up with duck and cover under my elementary schooldesk, the cold war, the iron curtain, the korean war, the vietnam war and i went to federal prisonas a jw conscientious objector while hippies, flower children, political activists protested and universitystudents were fired up on by troops.i grew up reading newspapers (2 of them).

Revelation seems to indicate pretty clearly that Michael and Jesus are 2 separate entities.

the seniors in our family were scammed by watchtower, for over 7 figures.

an interesting read today to give some insight.. one of the most egregious con-artists is watchtower bible and tract society the “legal” entity for jehovah’s witnesses.

many retired jehovah’s witnesses have been targeted over the years to “loan” money for various “special projects” to further the “preaching work”, only to find they are never to be repaid.

My grandmother was an educated professional with a 50 year caerer. She became a jw after retirement. She donated quite a bit of money to the local congregation and was horrified when it was sold up and they were all told to go elsewhere to attend meetings.

How much inheritance/ retirement fund money does the WT use to fight CSA cases I wonder?

As the years go by, I'm hearing of more older JW'S that I used to know dying. This was something that JW's of the last few generations were simply not prepared for. We were not supposed to get old, or lose so many along the way.

There is a big number of JW's that are living in this limbo, caught in between the old and new reality, the old reality brutally smashed courtesy of David Splanes overlapping chart. I think a lot are still in denial about their situation and I struggle to understand how they reconcile it in their minds.

The org seems to be taking off the pressure of the past and settling in for the long run. They might even have a 'thousand year business plan', like Japanese companies did in the 80s, but I doubt God's kingdom has anything to do with it.

As the last of the boomers die and Gen X gets too old to care about anymore, there will be nothing stopping them as no-one will be left to remember watching the failed prophecy of 1914. They are doing this already.

There is no-one alive anymore who witnessed the disappointment of 1914 and history will repeat. Time is their friend. There will always be suckers.

Are you glad you got the Covid Vaccine? Did it help?

i didn’t get the covid vaccine, but i admit, i was scared as shit i made the wrong decision because there was so much confusion out there.

practically all my family and most of my friends took the vaccine because everyone was depending on those in charge to speak the truth.

now a lot of them are sick, and they can't figure out why.

Yes I do. Im sorry but your argument is political, not scientific. There is overwhelming evidence for this from studies worldwide by various institutions like hospitals and universities. If you think you know more than these experts, great - show us.

Just to be clear, the surgery masks do not stop pathogens, they are there to prevent hair and large particulate matter (spit) from falling into open wounds during a surgery.

You just answered your own question- saliva contains viruses, including covid. This argument is getting old.

i didn’t get the covid vaccine, but i admit, i was scared as shit i made the wrong decision because there was so much confusion out there.

practically all my family and most of my friends took the vaccine because everyone was depending on those in charge to speak the truth.

now a lot of them are sick, and they can't figure out why.

Good post Liam. I agree that everyone has the right to accept or reject a vaccine like Covid.

A lot of the fights were due to people trying to convince others that the vaccine was purposely developed to kill, or magically control others with nano computers etc.

The problem was that the ones that were most opposed to the vaccine were also the ones most likely to not wear masks and not isolate, putting others at risk. They believed their personal rights exceeded their community responsibility.

Yes, all nurses should work for free. Everytime they wipe someones butt, or get punched in the face by a drug addict they should be smiling. Just knowing they have helped others should be reward enough.

so what you are about to watch is the 3rd adjustment that was introduced in the annual meeting by geofftey jackson and it has to do with the their new understanding on the united nations, so here is the verse revelation 17:12 :"these have one thought, so they give their power and authority to the wild beast.

Because JW's have a version of revelation programmed into their heads from the gb, reading it objectively can be difficult. At least it was for me.

There is a reason we studied it over and over in the 90s, with revised notes every time. That reason is because the JW version doesn't make sense. They try so hard to apply a 2000 yr old text to events of the 20th century , focussed on a fringe group in north America. The GB should feel humiliated about a lot of the explanations they came up with.

Revelation is an interesting and entertaining book if it is read without prejudice. It is pretty obvious that the whore is simply Rome and the wild beast is the Roman Empire. With that context, the book begins to make sense.
